First of all, thank you so much for joining the interview, director! Would you introduce yourself briefly?
Hi, I’m currently preparing for an event associated with coffee in Busan, and I’m Tommi who is a director, doing planning things as a freelancer.
What is the purpose of this coffee festival?
There are many roastery cafes where they roast coffee beans in person to sell in Busan. You may say that it’s a small event to introduce hidden, yet good cafes to many people.
What have you prepared for the event?
We had the event two times in 2019 before the pandemic. We rented a huge outdoor space and one team (or a café) per booth sold coffee beans, coffee, and relevant goods, and you could buy an admission ticket to the festival and then try the coffee at any booth you wanted. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, we’re having the event focusing on the pop-up type in Seoul and introducing coffee from Busan to people in Seoul.
Is there any message you’d like to deliver for the event?
What matters most to me is ‘Let’s do it in a fun way.’ I’m preparing the events so that many people can get a small thing from there. Even if it’s not about coffee, I prepared the cultural content as well by inviting an independent bookstore or a painter drawing pictures so I made sure that people visiting the festival could get something fun.
